drama team
Worship leaders are discovering that brief, but compelling, dramatic sketches grip people's minds and open their hearts to receive the message of Christ in a new way. More and more churches are using drama as another vehicle to touch people with God’s Word.
Drama Ministry has been a part of Risen Savior since 2000 under the inspiring direction of Deb Erdmann. A dozen short skits have been performed by various members and included as a dynamic part of our worship services. In 2006 the Drama Team produced "A Purpose-Driven Christmas Carol", a 1-hour drama skit involving more than 20 members of RSLC in the performance and crew.
PDCC was a new take on the famous story by Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol." It keeps the flavor of the original, but looks at the story from the perspective of Rick Warren's "A Purpose-Driven Life". The drama team devoted 6 months to organizing, memorizing lines, preparing and rehearsing of this play. (Click below to watch abbreviated scenes.)

In the 2009 Christmas Season, the Drama Team brought us "Welcome to Pauly's". This play centered around a young pastor ("Hank", played by Bruce Elliott), and includes a local town diner where several lives regularly intertwine.
DVD's of both plays are available to be loaned from our church library.
"Pauly's" was another major production involving 40 members / friends and hundreds of hours in preparation over a span of 5 to 6 months.
Through it all, the young Pastor Hank continues to question if he is truly commissioned to do God’s work as the various issues touch his life.
